Museari: Aesthetics of Sexual Diversity

“Museari: Aesthetics of Sexual Diversity” is an art exhibition that offers a diverse landscape both as refer to artists and in terms of the techniques employed. It is a multifaceted perspective of what has been the exhibition activity during the first year of temporary exhibitions in Museari. Museu de l’Imaginari (www.museari.com).

The exhibition features one piece from each artist who has exhibited in the online environment www.museari.com from July 2015 to July 2016: Xavier Mollà, Reme Tomas, Amadeo Valldeperez, Rafa de Corral, Carme Vidal, Adolfo Siurana, Alex Meza, Nora Ancarola, Francesc Vera, Concha Daud, Pepe Miralles and Loli Soto.

Remember that the first exhibition in La Posta, with works of FIDEX GROUP took place in November 2014 and was organized within the activities of the International Congress of Art Education and Sexual Diversity, an initiative of the Institute of Creativity and Educational Innovations of the University of Valencia, that he had the collaboration of the Collective Lambda. Therefore, the theme of the defense of human rights and the visibility of the LGBT collective already has previous actions in La Posta Foundation.

On the other hand, the exhibition coincides with the news that the Supreme Court has raised before the Constitutional Court the possible unconstitutionality of the law that excluding young people under gender reassignment (by changing name and sexual identity). The news is even more important because, being minors, gender reassignment would occur without modifying the physical conditions in order to adapt to gender claimed, by application of sex reassignment surgery. Untying the gender respect of physical characteristics, particularly the genitals, now is a desirable horizon in the struggle for equality transsexuals.
