La Posta Foundation – Image Research Laboratory, since its constitution in June 2013, continues to be a benchmark in the promotion and dissemination of contemporary art in the city of Valencia in its many forms. The space, located at Calle Pintor Fillol 2, will host the new exhibition program starting in October with a clear commitment to the cultural dissemination of contemporary art in the Valencian sphere.
On the other hand, the research work finds its necessary complement in the training activities, welcoming students in internships, the result of an agreement that begins this season with the Master in Architecture of the Cardenal Herrera University de Alfara del Patriarca (Valencia).
The new season will focus its programming on the analysis of the different social movements, the individual or collective experiences arising from the observation of reality or the different collective and cultural activities that have generated critical thinking in contemporary times. Likewise, special importance will be given to the study of modern architecture and urban planning as determining elements in the configuration of the contemporary city. On the other hand, during the months of June and July, as usual, the foundation will dedicate its programming to exhibitions and activities related to the celebration of LGTBIQ+ Pride.
The first exhibition of the season “The Nomadic Life”, whose inauguration is scheduled for early October, focuses on nomadic activity as an echo of a time before the organization of social life around paid work. A series of selected works by international and national artists will address this way of life and pay special attention to the individuals represented. Its mere presence and capture invoke the idea that art must be involved in life to fulfill its function.
This programming comes to consolidate Fundación La Posta’s commitment to continue being that common place, of community, a space for ideas or reflection where experimentation and observation of the environment take on a prominent place.
In addition, for this new season, the La Posta Foundation team is reinforced with the incorporation of Alejandro Chust, art historian and professional specializing in Cultural Heritage, who will assume the position of assistant director, and Sara María Rodríguez, Peruvian artist residing in Valencia and independent photographer specialized in conceptual and fashion photography, who collaborates in the documentation of the activities of La Posta Foundation. And directing the team and activities of the Foundation: Guillem Cervera.
La Posta Foundation continues its commitment to research and the dissemination of contemporary art in its many fields for yet another season, promoting individual and collective creation through a critical and transformative view of the community or society.
