A month of workshops at La Posta Foundation, between mid-December 2023 and mid-January 2024, with architects and artists, to work on the territory and the landscape.
― On the one hand, the Workshop on entropic landscape, which is already announced on this same website for next January, between January 8 and 18 (the registration period is now open, sending an email to laposta@fundacionlaposta.org), all the information here.
― And, in this same month of December, between the 18th and the 21st, the AGUA Workshop organized by the Master of Architecture of the Cardenal Herrera University will take place. Although behind closed doors (registration is closed), the results of said workshop can be seen in exhibition format on Fridays and Saturdays, January 12, 13, 19 and 20, at the usual times of those days: Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The exhibition of the results of the analysis of the landscape and the territory and of the construction and planning proposals that can be made is a matter of enormous interest, and it is advisable to know how to proceed in this regard, since these the exhibitions are a legal requirement, established so that citizens can participate in the decision-making processes adopted by the competent Administrations on these matters. Consequently, here are professionals who are starting out in these subjects, an opportunity to see how an exhibition of these characteristics is developed. As is the case, for example, of those artists and architects to whom the Workshop on entropic landscape is directed, which is specifically oriented to the acquisition of skills for the characterization and processing of Historical Sites and Cultural Landscapes (see link below).
Regarding the AGUA workshop, organized by the Master in Architecture of the Cardenal Herrera University and directed by the artist Clara Nubiola, with which the participants will walk, look, reflect and finally present a new vision of the role of water in the city of Valencia, offers us a unique opportunity to see the results of an analysis carried out by an extremely international group of postgraduate professionals with a cross-cultural perspective. The corresponding exhibition can be seen on the days indicated above.
Today, water is a scarce resource whose use and management must be part of the reflections that concern the architectural project. In view of the pressing periods of drought and high temperatures, especially in southern latitudes, it is necessary to investigate ways of making the most of water that help to optimise its use and improve the environmental conditions of our urban habitat. In addition to the evocative and poetic connotations of water, its recreational or landscape character, or its function as a flow that channels the economy of a territory, its sustainable use as a means of improving urban environmental conditions is a challenge for contemporary design today.
The students of the Master in Architecture at the Universidad Cardenal Herrera CEU are working under the guidance of the office SOL 89 in the city of Seville and around its river, a fluvial system that has historically conditioned its urban morphology and its territorial and global relations. However, these reflections are now also being transferred to the city of Valencia by the artist Clara Nubiola, with whom the students are walking, looking, reflecting and finally presenting us with a new vision of the role of WATER in the city of Valencia.
