Feminist plots. Parallel activities

Within the framework of the exhibition “Feminist Plots”, with works by Teresa Lanceta, Bia Santos, Miriam Martínez Guirao, the collective artistic project CraftCabanyal and Anabel Mateo; with the special participation of Eva Viera; organized by the LABi team, a group of students of the Master in Photography, Art and Technique of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, in collaboration with La Posta Foundation, will develop a set of parallel activities:

― March 23 and 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 3 to 5 p.m., Feminist Photography Workshop.

Given by Gabriela Rivera Lucero. Directed to the general public, over 18 years. Theoretical-practical workshop analyzing decolonial feminist proposals, the history of women photographers, and the realization of photographic self-portrait proposals.

The aim is to analyze a genealogy of works by female photographers, from the beginning of the 20th century to the present, from a decolonial perspective, reviewing authors from the different continents: America, Europe, Africa, Oceania and Asia. Delving into Latin American and Spanish works. Highlighting projects by artists who use their own bodies as a tool to criticize gender conventions. Then, starting from an autobiographical experience, develop a series of self-portrait photographs, which will finally be exhibited in an urban exhibition day, which will take place on Sunday March 31, at 11 hrs.
